Tesla

CBS News reported on October 16, 2026 that the FAA said: "The Tesla vehicle does not meet the FAA definition of an aircraft." CBS also reported that Tesla's website said the flying model is not approved for public road use, that production was planned for 2028, and that the Rocket variant with the full flight system would be offered by invitation only. CBS reported a $5,000 deposit for a non-flying version. This page does not treat the Roadster as a certificated aircraft.
